What Are My Clients Saying?
Christopher worked for us at Envision as a wayfinding designer on some complex projects that required not only design skill but also project management, organizational and client communication skills. Chris's work with us was very high quality, as well as being a popular and valuable member of our team. I would not hesitate to recommend him for employment along similar lines and would be happy to interact direct to provide a more detailed reference.
- Mark Wilson President Envision Canada
I am happy to write this letter of reference for Christopher Cushman. He was employed as a full time Wayfinding Designer at Envision Canada from February 2018 until July 2019.Over those eighteen months Christopher held a key role within our design studio supporting our Wayfinding and Signage team on 2 large and challenging Metrolinx GO projects during a time of transition within the company. His professionalism and instinct for client management enabled him to successfully lead projects while working closely with team members to ensure adherence to MX/TTC/MyWay design standards while maintaining a cohesive and well coordinated design packages. Tasks within these projects included research, concept development, wayfinding strategy, client meetings/collaboration, Q/C of design work, and often required working within AODA standards to create wayfinding solutions that work for all. Christopher is a diligent worker and can absorb new concepts quickly and easily as many of these tasks were learned in the process of completing the project. While Christopher’s professional acumen with clients was extremely valuable, he was also an amazing team player. Optimistic, engaging and easy to get along with, Christopher was a pleasure to have in the office and fostered many positive relationships. It was unfortunate for Envision Canada that, due to a shift in project focus we had to reorganize the company and lose valuable employees like Christopher. We all miss Christopher and wish with the best.
- John Moss Head of Design Envision Canada
I had the pleasure of working with Chris Cushman through some very challenging projects. Chris proved himself to be tenacious in the face of numerous challenges. He has considerable experience in general wayfinding and and in Metrolinx/TTC/Miway wayfinding programs in particular. He balanced the demands of these 3 stakeholders to create a solidified master document, that co-ordinated 2 sets of specifications. He was very diligent in his work and he impressed me with his perseverance and his outlook.

"KasheDance echoes in a new genealogy of Afro contemporary dance grounded in Creation | Research | Presentation. Rooted in the connection of technique, creative exploration / process and performance, KasheDance investigates the space where artistic diversity in technique, form and choreography converse with ballet, modern dance and dances from the Diaspora. The company has performed to critical acclaim in Canada, the United States, Jamaica and the UK all spaces where the images or designs of Christopher Cushman has been seen. As Artistic Director, I, Kevin A. Ormsby draws inspiration from collaborations with visual arts, music, spoken word, and video. Christopher Cushman, has been a major collaborator in the visual representation of the work KasheDance has come to be known for since it’s inception. Our artistic cooperation and collaboration began in 2006 with photography and all KasheDance’s concepts, logo and website development is to the credit of Mr. Cushman. He is astute in his understanding of the forms, context and content that is required for design, creation and implementation across platforms. To date, he has created our logo, revised it for it’s 5th anniversary, created a calendar, posters for all major productions, captured images, even our thank you cards bears his masterful re-imagination of a picture taken by him. Through the calibre of his work with KasheDance, I have recommended him to work with dance Immersion, Ballet Creole, Prologue to the Performing Arts and Wind in the Leaves Collective among others. I must caution you, his work ethic, attentiveness and strategic understanding of the work he executes will be contagious and rewarding. Given this history of his integrity in design, I wholeheartedly recommend him!"

"I have had the pleasure of working Christopher with over the years as our graphic designer for my not-for-profit organization, dance Immersion.
Christopher was tasked with creating our 20th anniversary logo, allowing the organization to celebrate our accomplishment with a new look. What made our 20thlogo unique and so fitting was the lyrical use of typography of the number 2 used twice as a metaphor for male and female dance partners. This logo was beyond what we expected, and fit the energy of our organization, with a familiar and new look.
Christopher has been creating materials for dance Immersion since 2012, starting with the demands of the IABD conference we hosted in Toronto, as well as marking materials for every performance year since.
I value working with Christopher Cushman as he is very creative and knows how tozero in on each organizations needs, and creates inviting materials that helppromote the company. He has not only done this for my organization but my compatriots in other organizations time and time again. He has a great ability tolisten and instinctively create designs that captures the imagination of his clients.
Ultimately, Christopher sees a project through to fruition to the satisfaction of each and every client. He goes above and beyond for every project, sometimes taking onthe responsibility of communicating with printing companies, publicists, and other contracted entities. He is also fabulous when it comes to working within a tight deadline."
